The Sphinx is the keeper of the gate, the arbiter of riddles, intellect, and physical thresholds. She is a hybrid being—part woman, part beast—who demands self-reflection and sharp intellectual clarity before allowing anyone to pass. She represents the threshold between the known and the unknown.
These large-scale, intricate panels are suspended away from the wall, allowing light to cast dynamic shadows throughout the gallery space. Moving between substance and silhouette, the artwork functions as a visual threshold where ancient stories meet contemporary life, celebrating the enduring power of these mythic archetypes.
